Prefest

Get your band ready for competition! Directors are invited to bring their ensembles to LSU for a unique opportunity to practice and refine their concert festival music. You'll receive written and recorded feedback from a panel of LSU faculty judges, a 30-minute clinic from one of LSU's band directors, and the chance for your band members to play alongside LSU School of Music students and receive specific feedback for their instrument.

Directors interested in participating in Prefest must register their groups in advance. There is no cost for bands to attend Prefest, but timeslots are limited and given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. A typical session for a band participating in Prefest lasts around one hour and every participating group must observe another group's performance.
